Silverhawk Native American FLute Gathering

Come Flute in Florida!

Hosted by Dock Green Silverhawk on the grounds of Withlacoochee River Park in Dade City, the event brings together many of the most talented flute players and makers in Florida, for a weekend full of great performances, flutes, crafts, workshops and camping.

How it all began....

Several years ago I was going to have a backyard barbecue at my

house for our flute circle, Central Florida Flute Circle. Mike

Knight of Indian River Flute Circle heard about it and asked if

this was only for my flute circle, or for everyone. I said it was

for everyone.

I live in the country with a nice little piece of land but all of a

sudden it was too big for my place and we had the first Silverhawk

Native American Flute Gathering at Withlacoochee River Park, an

incredible place in the country that even has an authentic Creek

Indian village in the woods. What started out as a plan to bring

two flute circles together for a back yard barbecue has turned into

an annual flute gathering with a loyal following.

That first year another group of flute players from Heart's Breath

Flute Circle attended. They were from Yona and Kay's Indian Stuff

in St Petersburg. The second year they began having the Heart's

Breath Flute Extravaganza to raise money to help support the

Silverhawk Gathering. This has become an event in it's own right

and is held in August and is a forerunner to the Silverhawk Gathering.

Come join us of the Central Florida Flute Circle, Indian River

Flute Circle, and Heart's Breath Flute Circle for an incredible

relaxing weekend of brotherhood and fellowship of the Native

American Flute. It is held the second weekend in October. What a

backyard barbecue. Come feel the magic.

Blessings,

Dock Green Silverhawk
